The Nelson Perch was designed in 1964 in conjunction with the revolutionary open-plan office system Action Office 1. This high stool encourages working positions that alternate between standing and sitting. It also serves as an ideal object for leaning on, providing healthy support during informal meetings at stand-up tables. The armrest and steel foot ring allow the user to adopt a variety of comfortable postures.
The design of the Soft Pad Group dates from the year 1969. In terms of both construction and shape, these chairs are similar to the design of the Aluminium Group, but their sewn-on cushions create a striking contrast to the slender aluminium profiles. The Soft Pad Chairs are softer and more voluptuous than the chairs in the Aluminium Group, but without losing the clean clarity of their common silhouette. The chairs adapt to the body of the sitter and provide extraordinary comfort. Vitra has produced the Soft Pad Group chairs over a period of decades in the same superior quality. This experience allows us to offer a 30-year guarantee on all of the chair models in the Soft Pad Group.
The specification and finishes can be customised to client requirements. For over seventy five years, the Bright Chair Company has been an independent manufacturer of high quality, hand crafted wood furniture. Bright respects our environment by using wood only from sustainable forests, not from endangered wood species. Our suppliers are Smart Wood Certified by the Forest Stewardship Council ensuring that all woods are tracked through the manufacturing process. Bright uses only water based adhesives and catalytic finishes with no VOCs. All foam fill used is a by-product of the petrol-chemical process.
